USAspending.gov
The US government's official open-data source for federal spending, including the contracts that record defense awards.
USAspending.gov is the official, public open-data source for United States federal spending. It publishes records of federal contracts, grants, and other awards, including the awarding agency, the recipient company, the amount, and a description of what was bought. It is maintained under the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act.
For arms-supply research, USAspending is a primary documentary source: a federal contract record there establishes that a company holds a specific defense contract. A contract record shows that a contractual relationship exists; it is a documented fact about the award, not a legal conclusion about the company.
